The Spring One of a Kind show did not disappoint, so many lovely things! I’ve been drooling over photos on Instagram from several of the makers there, here’s a few I’m a big fan of. First booth I recognized was Bookhou. They have a small shop in Toronto and I first learned about them through and Etsy seller article that really grabbed my attention. I love how they work at home together and have their kids around the shop with them. Plus their things are really beautiful! Arounna was so helpful and friendly, I got all kinds of great tips from her on classes to take and other designers I might be interested in. Great to meet her.
Next I came upon the Etsy section. Pretty awesome! I’ve been following Priyanka Rego of Paper Trails Design Co., on Instagram for a few months now and admiring her calligraphy and floral embellishments. I found her here, it was her first time to the OOAK. I think Paul and I should get married all over again so we can have her do our invitations (!!).
Hatchetmade was one booth I discovered at the Christmas show and I was so excited to meet Christina in person and hear more about her work. I picked up her feather zippered pouch, a lovely linen with her artwork screen printed on the front, isn’t it lovely? Ah! She makes everything with natural dies in her home studio. Ah.maz.ing. A couple months back I also noticed she was stocked in The New New Age, a small food bar in nearby Port Stanley. Just one of the many stores who carry her products in Canada.
Such a pleasure meeting these talented people making a living doing the things they love and bringing beauty to the world.
On to new projects. Pottery, woodworking and a new batch of Union Jack pilows!

I am glad you had so much fun hobnobbing with who’s who in the artistic world.
