New Christmas Products

With Christmas just around the corner I wanted to tell you about a few new things in stock. It’s been a busy fall collecting materials in the midst of covid with supply issues. Although some items won’t be here in time (terrazzo for the little tables…sob). Many other suppliers went over and above to get me the things I needed. Thank you Gordon Fabrics and The Clockery! I also made a few new things to fill in the gaps.

Canadian Collection

After an exciting time at One of a Kind at the end of March – (which was a busy, fun and all around amazing show. !!) I am happy to announce the new Canadian collection for this summer in celebration of the 150. All three pieces have the same styled maple leaf in grey tones offering a more subtle way to show your Canadian spirit even beyond the excitement of July 1st.

Railway City Arts Crawl – year 2

It’s that time of year again, the Railway City Arts Crawl.  Although it was two weeks ago already, I think anytime is a good time to be inspired by art. And local at that!

It felt like there were quite a few more artists this year, or perhaps we just visited more locations than last year, I’m not sure. But along with some familiar friends there was also some new work that caught my eye.  Continue reading “Railway City Arts Crawl – year 2”

etsy made in canada 2016

There’s still a small glow around here after the etsy show in London a couple weeks ago. Our spot downtown attracted almost 2,000 people and it was great to meet some amazing makers with equally amazing products. Many thanks to our etsy team leader Jill Bogart for all her work putting the show together. She promoted it online and around the city including a tv feature. Whahoo! summer endings & new beginnings

20160915_043643

June was recovery and follow up from the big pillow order, July blasted past with going and coming to various little holidays with our family, and August seems to have disappeared before my very eyes. Isn’t that how our Canadian summers seem to go? I will drink in the last couple of warm days that September brings. But, oh… I do love fall. It might be my favourite season. fun little project

20160307_080449_001

It had been sitting on my desk since the One of a Kind show at Christmas and this past week while Paul was away I finally took the opportunity to make my Kiriki horned owl. Of course I was in love with the packaging at first sight and the project inside was just as fun. As Goldilocks would say, “not too big and not too small, this one was just right”. Railway City Arts Crawl

20160227_142754

It wasn’t until we were leaving our second stop that I thought, “I’ve got to do a blog post about this!” I had been somewhat aware that the Railway City Arts Crawl was coming up and was mildly interested in seeing it in a “if everything worked out perfectly” sort of way. Then I got an email with someone mentioning it and I saw a couple more signs and I checked out the website and then I really wanted to go. Continue reading “Railway City Arts Crawl”

One of a Kind – Toronto

Well where do I start, the One of a Kind show was incredible!! So. Many. Beautiful. Things. I walked around in a daze most of the time because I wasn’t sure where to look first. So many of the vendors were friendly and helpful, here’s a few of my favourites. Continue reading “One of a Kind – Toronto”
