With so many “things” in the world vying for our attention and easily accessible do we really need another brand with more stuff? These are questions I ask myself as a maker and designer. Am I a contributor to the problem of oversupply and waste? A sobering thought, and one that lies at the foundation of my work in timeless design. The best way to reduce waste and spend is to buy things that we can keep for a long time. How do we do that?

I stumbled across the term “Biophilic Design” a few months ago and dove into an exploratory phase. Aside from sounding really smart (who doesn’t want that?) conversations around biophilic design have been growing in popularity. Today we get to talk about classes. This is the first time I have offered classes on my projects. I’m super excited! These are taking place in person at the new store in St. Thomas, Ontario. I designed the space with a huge table specifically for gathering people together to create beautiful things. I’m scheduling three this summer with plans to include a danish cord weaving class in the fall. See below for class descriptions, these are all available to sign up on the site.

So very excited to announce the opening of my first storefront right here in St. Thomas! Ever since I started sewing pillows back in 2015 I have dreamt of having a shop but didn’t think it would be possible. But I’ve been keeping my eye on the market and the right building came up at the right time. Oh wow did I fall in love with this little place.

As promised, a little more info about the new dried flower bars! If you’re like me I love incorporating natural plants and grasses in to my home. Dried flowers are a maintenance free and cost effective alternative to fresh flowers. They also offer some colour contrast to live house plants and can balance out a room.
