A little backstory on how it all came to be. I had played around with a circle bag design a couple years ago for my daughter. The first attempts were embarrassing to say the least and the bag didn’t stand up to regular use and eventually ended up unused. This January I made some changes and started testing with new materials to see if I could solve some of the problems with structure. With practice things started to come together and work better. First I heavily reinforced the sides to hold the purse in its strong shape and added a firm piping in the corners to give it clean lines. The zipper opening was much easier to use with all the added reinforcement. Stitched to the bottom, I added a resilient waxed canvas to help with waterproofing and managing of every day wear and tear and to protect the colourful linen. When I felt satisfied with the prototype, I made a small batch in two colours, sea green and pure blue.

Next step, the leather strap. A problem I ran in to here was the bag’s tendency to tip from side to side. The solution was to split the strap and attach it at two points to give more stability to the bag. It is a circle after all and will move on its own at times! This worked great and gave the bag the much needed stability. And I love the look of it too, so delicate. 🙂

The interior is surprisingly large and includes a small interior pocket. At 9.5″ wide the purse is big enough to hold your full sized wallet along with sunglasses and other necessities while still being lightweight.
